Who said there aren’t many cruelty-free and vegan makeup brands?

If you’re a beauty enthusiast, then chances are you’ve heard of vegan makeup. While certainly the essential alternative for those following a plant-based diet, vegan makeup products offer incredible benefits that all makeup users can appreciate.

It’s becoming easier every day to find cruelty-free vegan beauty products that will keep you in style in a compassionate way.

For those trying to achieve a healthier lifestyle, vegan makeup products offer a way to extend their healthy commitments into more areas of their life.  There is no reason to buy products that have been tested on animals or to support companies that are exploiting animals to turn a profit. My job is to do the research and empower you to make choices that support products and companies that are beautiful inside and out!

As I became more educated in those who have chosen a vegan journey, I figured it was time to share what some of my closest friends have found. Being vegan in other areas of there life is essentially to the lifestyle.

Beautycounter FAQs specific to vegan
Most of our products do not contain ingredients sourced from animals such as musks, oils, and egg- and milk-derived ingredients. There are a few exceptions, which are listed below—lanolin, carmine, and beeswax.

Our Peppermint Balm Lip Conditioner and Calendula Balm Lip Conditioner contain lanolin, a natural wax derived from sheep’s wool. Lanolin is boiled out of wool that has already been sheared, and no sheep are harmed in its production. We use high-quality lanolin from sheep in Australia and New Zealand. It has been filtered and contains no unsafe biological material.

We use carmine as a red colourant in some of our colour products. Carmine is a rich, natural pigment that comes from crushed beetle shells. It has been used for hundreds of years and is safer than some synthetic reds.

We also use beeswax in some of our products. We hope to establish relationships with U.S. beekeepers dedicated to keeping bee populations healthy.

As always, we will disclose all ingredients on our website and on our packaging. Vegans, those with allergies, or customers with other preferences/concerns can choose to avoid certain products with ingredients that are not right for them.
